چکیده

Reliable production of freshwater and energy is vital for tackling two the most critical issues world facing today: climate change sustainable development. In this light, a comprehensive review performed on foremost renewable energy-driven polygeneration systems using thermal membrane desalination. Thus, designed to outline latest developments integrated desalination based multi-stage flash (MSF), multi-effect distillation (MED), humidification-dehumidification (HDH), reverse osmosis (RO) technologies. Special attention paid innovative approaches modelling, design, simulation, optimization improve energy, exergy, thermo-economic performance decentralized plants accounting electricity, space heating cooling, domestic hot water, production, among others. Different are investigated, including those assisted by solar, biomass, geothermal, ocean, wind, hybrid sources. addition, recent literature applying exergoeconomic, exergoenvironmental analysis reviewed establish comparison between range renewable-driven systems.

Life Cycle Exergy Analysis of Renewable Energy Systems

Exergy concepts and exergy based methods offer an insight to the understanding of sustainable energy engineering. The utilization of energy and other resources by applying physical concept as exergy and exergy based methods and the value of these tools in the design are presented, in particular Life Cycle Exergy Analysis (LCEA). LCEA is applied to a typical wind power plant. This brings a new a...

Economic Growth and Renewable Energy in Iran

Energy plays an active role in sustainable development in Iran, both in the sustainable and the development aspects. This study aims to estimate the nexus of economic growth and the renewable energy in Iran during 1981-2012. We employ the Auto-Regressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model to estimate a log-linear equation. The results suggest that renewable energy consumption is an insignificant driv...

Exergy Analysis of Complex Ship Energy Systems

With multiple primary and secondary energy converters (diesel engines, steam turbines, waste heat recovery (WHR) and oil-fired boilers, etc.) and extensive energy networks (steam, cooling water, exhaust gases, etc.), ships may be considered as complex energy systems. Understanding and optimizing such systems requires advanced holistic energy modeling. This modeling can be done in two ways: The ...

Seawater desalination using renewable energy sources

The origin and continuation of mankind is based on water. Water is one of the most abundant resources on earth, covering three-fourths of the planet’s surface. However, about 97% of the earth’s water is salt water in the oceans, and a tiny 3% is fresh water. This small percentage of the earth’s water—which supplies most of human and animal needs—exists in ground water, lakes and rivers. The onl...
